Lagerquist Gallery 3235 Paces Ferry Pl NW Atlanta, GA 30305 (404) 261-8273 Check out this fantastic gallery in the West Village. Ever since it’s opening in 1970, Lagerquist has hosted some amazing exhibitions. You’ll see impressionism, expressionism, and even some realism – but by living artists, not old masters. That doesn’t mean the skill is any less impressive though. Stop by, and the artist in you will thank you. Buckhead AMC Backlot Cinema and Grill 3340 Peachtree Rd NE Atlanta, GA 30326 (404) 467-0862 If you need to rest your weary legs from trekking all over Buckhead, but you’re hungry and want to chill, why not stop at Buckhead Backlot Cinema and Grill? The food is good and there’s a bar, you’ve got comfy chairs to settle into to watch the movie, and you can kick back and enjoy a few hours of cinematic entertainment. Popular with the college-age crowd. (Note: the address says Peachtree, but it is easier to find from Piedmont, across from Kroger.) Roxy Theater 3110 Roswell Rd Atlanta, GA 30305 (404) 233-7699. If you happen to be in town when there your favorite band is playing at the Roxy, don’t pass up the opportunity. The Roxy was built in 1927, and this art-deco theater turned music venue has a respectable 1,200 person capacity. Plan to walk or take public transportation, unless you are prepared to spend a lot of money on parking. Special thanks to Atlanta CitySearch, Yelp.com, the Lagerquist Gallery, and Wikipedia. |
